How to Log into eCW using Chrome Browser

1. Open up "Google Chrome" then Copy and paste this URL "https://txsosiapp.ecwcloud.com/mobiledoc/jsp/webemr/index.jsp" to your Google Chrome browser address bar or Click Herewhile in Chrome. 
  • This web application will only work on Google Chrome.
 
2. Click on the "Download Plug-in" button on the bottom left side of the webpage.
 
3. Find and run the downloaded plug-in. (It is usually in your "Downloads" folder as that is the default download location unless you changed it.)
 
 
4. This pop-up will appear, let it run. If it disappears and you see a new application titled "eCW_Startup" in the same location as the previous downloaded application, that means that it is done.
 
 
5. Run the new "eCW_Startup" application. Nothing will happen as this application will start a "eClinicalWorks Compatibility Utility" background process that can only be seen using "Task Manager"
  • If you want to check to see if this process is running, press down "ctrl", "alt", and "delete" at the same time to open up "Task Manager" and look for the "eClinicalWorks Compatibility Utility". If its there, its running.
  • WARNING - Do not mess around or close any processes that "Task Manager" is running because this could potentially crash you computer.
 
6. Go back to the "login page" and sign in using your provided logins. This "Plug-In Compatibility" pop-up will appear but do not worry, you have already completed this step. Just check "Don't remind me again" and then click "Ignore and continue" to continue to the eCW Web-based application.
 
7. Next, add a shortcut of the login page to your Desktop by clicking on the "Settings" button which is located on the top right corner of your chrome browser underneath the "X" and is represented by a vertical "...". Then click on "More Tools"  and then "Add to desktop..." 
8. This pop-up will appear. Please rename the shortcut to "SOSI eCW" then click "Add" to complete the shortcut.
