1. Press the "⊞ Win" Key or the "Start" button located on the bottom left corner of your screen.

2. Select the "Gear" Icon (Also known as "Settings" button) located above the "Power" button. This will open up the "Windows Settings" menu.

3. From the "Windows Settings" menu, select the "Update & Security" option located on the bottom right corner of the screen.

4. In the "Update & Security" menu is the "Windows Update". Most of the time, user will see the option "Check for updates" as follow:

This usually means that the computer is up to date or the computer will update itself automatically, but occasionally, Microsoft releases major updates that looks like this:

In this case, user should click either the "Download" button or the "Download and install now" underneath "Optional updates available". In any case, your goal should be to continue clicking either "Check for updates", "Download", or "Download and install now" until the "Check for updates" is the only thing that will continue to pop up.

This should be your end goal, as this means that the computer has ran out of updates to install and windows is up to date.

*Note* Some updates requires for user to restart the computer before it can finish installations. In that case, your computer will send you one of those annoying "Your computer needs to restart in order to complete the update" message, you could delay these as most of the time, it will requires time for the computer finish installing the updates. Especially during busy hours of your work day.

*MAJOR NOTE* Please Do Not Shut down or Restart the computer while Windows update installing your updates or else your computer may receive unexpected error, lags, or crashes.

Keeping your computer updated is one way to resolve and avoid most issues dealing with a PC.
